Meeting from 12 noon, Reformer's Tree, near Speakers' Corner (nearest Tube: Marble Arch)

Hyde Park

The march is expected to start at about 1:30-2pm. Please view the details and maps below for more information about the gathering location.

The day will begin with a gathering from 12noon onwards in Hyde Park. Here there will be short speeches and information about various aspects of the anti-vivisection struggle, and more importantly what we can all do to help end this barbaric and unscientific practice. There will be information stalls, food and more speakers at the end of the march at the rally in Whitehall Place.

Toilets - There are two toilets near where the march sets off from, see symbols on map above. Both toilets are free, the toilets have limited amount of cubicles, so there will be queues at times. The one near Marble Arch is harder to find and is to just past and opposite the Odeon cinema and down stones steps, while the other one is just 50 metres south of Reformers' Tree.

Coaches - Coaches should drop off passengers on Park Lane, near Marble Arch for the start of the march, and then park on the coach bays on Victoria Embankment, close to where the march finishes. Remember to swap mobile numbers with the driver to keep in touch for after the march.

Minibuses - We advise that minibuses too should drop off passengers at Marble Arch, then park close to the end of the march near Whitehall/Victoria Embankment. Minibuses can park in coach bays, it's £4 an hour though, so you may want to look for somewhere cheaper, possibly street parking nearby, or just over the river at Lambeth Bridge. (unless you're attending the after-march event, in which case see here.)

Cars - If you're driving into London in a car, it MAY be worth parking close to a Tube station on the outstkirts of the city and buying a travelcard which allows you to travel anywhere in London by tube, bus or train. A 6-zone travelcard costs £7.50, so if there are 4 or 5 of you, it may work out cheaper to drive in and pay for parking, though not as hassle-free. If so, you may want to take the same advice as that for minibuses above. If you do decide to "park & tube it", do make sure the underground line you choose is operating from that station, see http://www.tfl.gov.uk/ or 020 7222 1234.
If you do want to park your car near Hyde Park, there are two car park entrances, see symbols on map above. One on Park Lane (east) and the other on Cumberland Gate (north east). The height limit is 2.08m (6' 10").
